Borrowing and Returning

Loans

The monographic holdings of the branch library of Asian/African Studies and Islamic Theology can be borrowed for 4 weeks at the self-checkout machines. If there is no reservation on an item, the loan period can be extended up to a maximum of 84 days. Fees only arise if the loan period is exceeded. You can borrow up to 100 titles at one time. The loan period can be prolonged independently via your Primus user account, over the counter, by telephone or by e-mail.

Older journals can be borrowed for 14 days. Periodicals and newspapers, the non-circulation collections in the reading room and items of particular value (published before 1921) are excluded from that service pursuant to the library regulations.

Daily loans

Specially marked books and temporary reserved collections can be borrowed overnight and over the weekends (please note the term “short loan” in the Primus Gateway of the university library). Borrowing can be done within the last hour before closing time of the library; the check-in should be done on the next opening day until 12:00 a.m.

Book returns

Books can be returned at the counter during the opening hours.
