Information about the Holdings

Since the foundation of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, the library has been collecting literature on Theology. For the most part, these holdings can be found in the Branch Library of Theology. Some older theological literature is stored in the Jacob-und-Wilhelm-Grimm-Zentrum.

The library holdings consist of main and ancillary disciplines of Christian Theology: Old Testament, New Testament, History of the Church, Systematic Theology, Practical Theology, Missiology and Ecumenism, Coptic Studies, Christian Archaeology and Clerical Art, as well as Studies of Eastern Churches. Additionally, the library purchases literature on Judaic Studies and Religious Studies. The print books and periodicals are systematically shelved in twelve seminary libraries. An overview of them can be found at Subject Holdings.

A large share of the periodicals is also available electronically. Furthermore, there are diverse online databases and e-books available online within the university network. These resources can also be accessed anywhere by university members via Open VPN.

You will find further information at Subject Holdings.
