Information about the Holdings

Since the recognition of Psychology as a separate and distinct scientific discipline, the university library has extensively been adding subject-relevant literature to its holdings. Acquisitions are made in accordance with the firm regulations set by the Department of Psychology at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Due to the subject’s interdisciplinary features, accessions to related fields of Psychology are also included. Research literature (acquired mostly in German and English) accounts for the majority of the purchases. Psychology guides, however, are rarely acquired.

A wide range of the literature is also available as an electronic resource, and in part exclusively so.
Members of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin can access these resources (i.e. e-books, e-journals, and databases) via VPN, regardless of location.

For further information on where to find relevant literature on-site, see Subject Holdings. For information on how to get started on your research please refer to our "Research Guide Psychology" (pdf).
