Compact Course Life Sciences – Help with your Final Thesis

For students in the process of writing their bachelor's or master's thesis, we offer the ‘Compact Course in Life Sciences – Help with Your Final Thesis.’ Spread over four sessions, this course teaches important methodological skills for writing theses. The course is only available in German.

The first part of the course covers the topic of research, introducing basic research techniques and providing insights into researching in the Primus library catalogue. The second part delves deeper into the topic of researching scientific literature and introduces advanced research techniques and subject-specific databases for life sciences, including Scopus, PubMed, PsycInfo, CAB Direct and AI-based research tools.

The third part of the course focuses on writing an academic paper. Topics covered include the structure of an academic paper, finding a topic, time management, the writing process, and techniques for getting started and staying on track with your writing.

In the fourth part of the course, we teach students how to cite sources correctly and provide insights into various reference management programmes (Citavi, Endnote, Zotero).

We look forward to your participation. Registration via the registration form is required. You can book all four parts of the course together or individually.

If you need help with specific research questions, you can register for our „Research-Coaching online“.
