History

Information about the Holdings

The university library’s holdings on the study of history are quite extensive. Until World War I the collection is almost complete; missing works can be accessed at the State Library. For the period of WWI, the early Weimar Republic, and from the early 1930s on, noticeable gaps in the holdings with regard to foreign literature have to be expected. For the period between 1949 and 1990 a wide range of Eastern European literature is available, but large gaps in the collection can be found regarding Western European and American literature, some of which have already been closed.

Please visit our Subject Holdings page for more information on the location of the collection and its accessibility on site.
