The branch library Campus Nord comprises the holdings of the former branch and departmental libraries of Agricultural Science, of Agricultural Economics and Social Sciences (WISOLA), of horticulture, of biology, of the Späth-Arboretum, of English and American Studies, and of Sport Science.

Consequently these are the subjects covered at Campus Nord Library:

Collection emphasis: Crop Science, Livestock Sciences, Horticulture, Agroecology, Tropical and Subtropical Agriculture, Agricultural Economics and Social Sciences.

Collection emphasis: language and Linguistics, Literature and Art of Great Britain, of Ireland, of the USA, and of Canada, as well as literature on General Linguistics and Literary Studies.

Collection emphasis: Biophysics, Botany, didactics, Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, Theoretical Biology, Zoology.

Collection emphasis: Training and Movement Sciences, didactics and methods of physical education, History of Sport, Sports Medicine, Sports education, Sports Psychology, Sociology of Sport.

Campus Nord is an open-access library. It provides

  • a collection of 460.000 volumes
  • 400 workspaces
  • three reading rooms
  • six group workspaces
  • 60 PC workstations with authenticated Internet access and photocopier printing via Mensacard
  • one photocopier each on ground floor and first floor
  • a book scanner on the ground floor
  • a computer lab with 18 PC workstations  (also used as training course room)
  • Wi-Fi (WLAN) throughout the library
  • a workspace for partially sighted persons (ground floor)
  • a family room

Information on the Shelving of Campus Nord Library Holdings

The shelving at Campus Nord library follows the Regensburger Verbundklassifikation
Some parts of older holdings are still shelved following internal classification schemes but will gradually be reorganized according to Regensburger Verbundklassifikation.
