National literature supply and specialised information on university topics
The Specialised Information Service for Educational Science and Educational Research (FID), funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), is run by five cooperation partners:

The University Library of Humboldt University Berlin is responsible for providing information on higher education research within the consortium.

- E-books from international publishers
- Nationally licensed journals and databases
- Ordering international literature via direct loan
- Licensing or purchasing international journals
- Digitisation on demand
Acquisition of literature and licensing of non-European digital textbooks
- Clearing house for licences for digital educational media
Open access publishing
- Publishing e-books through crowdfunding
- Publishing Diamond Open Access journals through crowdfunding
- Publication platform for journals
Further information
The specialised information service emerged in 2015 from the Special Collection Service (SSG) for Higher Education, which had been maintained at HU Berlin since 1998. The collection can be searched via the University Library Berlin catalogue and is available nationwide.
